On the way home from Utah this weekend we stopped in Evanston to celebrate my Dad's 49th birthday with the family. For his birthday he got an old ornament from my sister, an old rubik's cube from my brother, a lego ship from my other brother, and then finally... a new laptop from all of us. It was a lot of fun and he was definitely surprised by the laptop... although I think the lego ship was his favorite :) Happy Birthday Dad, We love you!

Wedding Weekend
We had a lot of fun in Utah this weekend for Kevin and Mary's wedding. The wedding was gorgeous and it was really great to see everyone. The weather was our biggest concern... it held out on the way there but the roads on the way home weren't very good. Also, we hit a deer while driving home so it was pretty eventful. Now we just need the weather to stay good for one more week so we can make it to the airport for our cruise!!!

Pumpkin Carving
Today we carved pumpkins, it was a lot of fun! Nathan carved Iron Man and I did an owl. I went the safe route and used a pattern, Nathan's is all from scratch...pretty impressive! Then tonight we went and watched the University of Wyoming football game against University of Utah. We lost, but it was still a lot of fun.
My absolute favorite thing about fall so far: The weather!!!! It has been so gorgeous. There were still flowers on campus this week. I know it won't hold out for long, but we are definitely appreciating it while it lasts.

Busy Life!
I haven't posted anything in a while, but there is definitely a good reason! Nathan and I are back at school and things have been crazy! We are both taking quite a few classes and Nathan is teaching a class and does office hours. Along with that we are both working Monday-Friday at the ARK. They also surprised us at work and said that everyone now has to work "split shifts" which means we have to work both morning and night. So we go to work from 5:30 am-8:00 am, go to class, then back to work from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm/9:00, then homework, and then (hopefully) in bed by ten to be up at five again. We are also both busy with our callings at church. So, I guess we are paying for having such a relaxing summer by having no time to breath during the school year.
I hear that things don't really get any better... it's always busy no matter what stage of life your in. Hmmm... maybe we can just give up and live on welfare.

New Coffee Table
We had to buy a new coffee table, this is why:
When the playstation controller runs out of battery we have to plug it in to the console. Well, the cord can't reach the couch from the entertainment center so Nathan usually sits on the coffee table while playing his game to charge the controller. Oops. We made sure our new coffee table is nice and sturdy.

Must Be a Monday
Today I went with Nathan to get his license renewed at the DMV. First we stopped at the ATM to get cash for the new license. Then, after filling out the paperwork and sitting in line for about fifteen minutes Nathan checked his license and realized it doesn't expire until October 2, 2013. Also he left his debit card in the ATM. Not his smartest day ever haha. Hopefully he gets his brains back before school starts next week.

Family Reunion
Last weekend we went to a family reunion in Park City, UT. We stayed at a really beautiful resort up on the mountain. Each family had an apartment to themselves, ours was a four bedroom, four bathroom apartment... it was GORGEOUS! We had a really good time with my immediate and extended family. Sunday we all went back to Evanston and heard my brother give his "homecoming" talk in church. The only downside to the weekend was that Nathan's knee swelled up to about the size of a grapefruit. It swelled up for no apparent reason and was causing him extreme pain, luckily my parents had an old pair of crutches that he was able to use. My parents were nice enough to let us sleep in the master bedroom since Nathan couldn't really use the stairs. My poor eighty year old husband.

Family Weekend
Last weekend my family came up to see Nathan and I in Laramie. We did a lot of fun stuff while they were here. We went "cliff" jumping/swimming with Cassidee and her friend, we went bowling (shockingly I was the winner!), and we had dinner and a game night at the Shumway's house. Also, I got to see my brother Kevin who is just off his mission.
I'm so grateful for the Shumway's! Without them it would have been much harder/impossible to have my family here for the weekend. Not only did they feed and play games with my family, they let half of them sleep at their house!
I'm also grateful that Nathan comes from a large family... anyone else might have been a little overwhelmed hanging out with ten people in a tiny apartment.
And I'm grateful for my family and how wonderful they are, it was fun having them and we miss them!

Dilemma
Last night Nathan dropped his toothbrush in the toilet. He forgot about it until tonight when it was time to get ready for bed. He had several options:
- Don't brush
- Run his toilet-toothbrush under hot water for awhile and hope the toilet/24 hours of garbage germs would go away
- Share my toothbrush
He thought long and hard but decided that the least gross option would be to use my toothbrush, I even let him use it first :)
Being married is fun!

Jubilee Days
We had a fun Jubilee Days weekend. Friday night we went out to eat and then took a walk downtown through the street dance and carnival (aka trashy town). It was fun and seeing all the people there helped me realize how great my life is haha. Saturday morning we went to the parade with Joe and Susan, it was really fun! We got to see Cody walking with her cheerleading team and PJ riding with his class for their 10 year reunion.
